Simple, you cannot detox /methylate from the biotoxins Lyme creates.

There is tons of great info on You Tube under Dr Ben Lynch and also on FB and many sites.

Peacesoul pretty much hit it there. Many say that the source of symptoms is actually toxins in your body - so if you aren't able to get the toxins out - you will stay symptomatic even though you are killing the bacteria.

The good news is once people figure out they have this they can take a supplement to help their body detox.

Do you need a prescription for methylate or it's a vitamin

You do not need a prescription, although the drug that is typically prescribed is Deplin. It is very expensive, so most people find (including myself) that it's cheaper to get the supplement, 5-MTHR. I take one a day.

Also, the other supplement usually prescribed is a Methyl-B 12, not B Complex as it may contain folic acid (which is not good for the mutation). Also one a day

It's not as simple as taking a supplement to detox. Trying to figure out the workings of ones MTHFR snp's, Nitric oxide level, homoycsteine levels and SO much more will determine what a person with MTHFR needs to take in order to methylate properly.
It's very much trial and error. Many will do well on Methofolate and others will crash on it. Many heal on Niacin, others will not.
If people are doing well on Deplin, there is a missing link to their healing. Deplin is not recommended by Dr Lynch.
Diet and lifestyle changes are way more important and keep methylation at a even flow more than any supplements or drug

I've done pretty much all of Dr Lynch's seminars and read tons of literature on MTHFR and treatment and figuring out the snp's are very complex
