Welcome to our community! If you haven't already, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!"
, as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists (as Lyme rarely occurs by itself), helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, and a list of questions that you can ask any doctor that you are seeking treatment from.
The Western Blot can be ordered from several different labs, but5 Igenex and Stony Brook are the only labs that I'm aware of that have gone to the trouble of making sure their lab techs have the right testing materials and are trained to do this test and trained specifically how to read the test results. This is why they get so many more positive results than the other labs.
Remember though, that testing is only supposed to be part of the diagnostic process - the diagnosis is supposed to be based on clinical symptoms. Even the CDC website says this!! And they get a lot of things wrong with Lyme disease!
A CD57 is a test that can
help determine if you have Lyme. A low count may indicate Lyme, although a high count surely doesn't rule out Lyme disease either.
Yes!! Please go see a LLMD!! Do you have one in mind, or do you need some help finding one?
