@Traveler which probiotic brand do you think is best when on heavy antibiotics for Lyme? And how many a day? Pharmacist recommended Culturelle but no idea if it has what is needed.
You want one with as many different strains of good bacteria as you can afford as you want to 'rebalance' the intestinal tract. Culturelle has only one strain - Lactobacillus Rhamnosus.
You can find many probiotic choices in your local health food store, but be sure that they are in the refrigerated section as those will be the most potent.
I used kefir that I made at home with raw goat milk, because it was the highest amount of good bacteria and yeasts I could find. (www.culturesforhealth.com/milk-kefir-grains-composition-bacteria-yeast
Goat milk is the only "healthy" milk, according to most Homeopaths and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners. It never added to my symptoms or increased the amount of flem I dealt with because it's easier to digest, and the fermenting process removes almost all the lactose that most people are allergic to.
