Piroutte: Yes, there's a lot going on that isn't understood yet...and we are all physiologically different.
And, Lyme does affect our weight...I didn't gain weight, but I lost it. I think it made me a little on the hyperthyroid end of things. And for many months - it didn't seem to matter what i did - tried my hardest to gain a few pounds...I just ended up going to the bathroom more often. nothing seemed to stick. Now, that I am treating, I have managed to put on a couple of pounds.
I probably didn't express it clearly - one of my points is that what I'm doing works for me...and I have never advised others who have health issues to try what I do. But, so many times I have been told how unhealthy it is for me to skip breakfast. It's like it's okay for someone who is overweight to say to me, "you're too skinny...you need to eat more"...but I would never say to that person, "you're too fat...you need to eat less" - that would be considered a terrible thing to say. (Can you imagine if I said that?)
And, I'm actually not skinny - I am 5'5" and weight 127 lbs. Pre-lyme I was 138 lbs and this is when i was called skinny. Far from it.
I also realize there are "skinny" people who also have health issues, and it's not so simple as just skipping breakfast, etc.
Anyway - the intermittent fasting, along with some of the others in that list of 10 that I practice works for me.
