Went into see my regular Dr not LLMD. I have really bad swelling. In lymph node in left side of neck. Headache and lower back pain. Can hardly turn my neck I'm in so much pain. Been healthy and off meds for 4 months. They do blood test. And it comes back cat scratch fever. Dr asks if I have a cat. I don't and then he says "bartonella" and that catches my attention. Crap! Its back. Well its been a nice break. Back to LLMD. But before I do I'm wondering what herbs you are taking for Bart. After 3+ years of meds I'm looking at a more natural option. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

That is just disappointing to find out. What did you treat with and how long did you treat for?

My bartonella also relapsed. I treated it non-stop for 4 and A half months. It relapsed in less than a month.

Hi Agent9er,

I'm sorry you have to see your llmd again... sad

A frequently used herb for Bartonella is Houttuynia. My dr didn't want to prescribe it about a year ago, but he started giving it to patients a short while ago.
I tried it myself about a year ago (I asked my dr, he said there were no studies proving it's efficiency, but I know his way of showing he believes in it, so I gave it a try). If you decide to try it, go slowly cause it can cause some serious herxing (something I never felt before, like walking through a thick substance, for about 3 weeks, then it got much more tolerable).

I think I'm going to drink Houttuynia tea daily... And use A-bart. I thin that is my next treatment for bartonella.

It is disappointing. I mainly had issues with Babesia so we hit that one hard and then Lyme. I treated Bartonella off and on for the four years on abx but straight for about 6 months before I went off meds to wait and see. It is frustrating me of course hoping for the best. I cried a lot last night. I was very optimistic that what I was doing was working, eating healthy, exercising, eating clean, detoxing... Oh well. At least I'm not at the start. Seeing the finish line again in sight. Just a short setback.

Agent... Did you successfully treat Lyme and babesia though?

You're not the only one frustrated with bartonella treatment. I too had a huge setback with my relapse.

I read someone who cured their bartonella with 18 months of rifampin. I might just do that.

Sorry to hear abouf the relapse. This worry has been on my mind as well. I have been on abx for 4 months and starting to see some symps improve and I expect to be on abx longer but I am worried when I go off will the lyme or coinfections come back. Right now just grateful for small improvements.
