You will be amazed at The Rainbow and the Worm if you are interested at all in biology and physics. It is a bit hairy trying to figure out all the equations, but if you let them go Mae-Wan's explanations are such that the equations don't really need to be understood. You will remember some of the math/physics from high school and you will get the gist.
This book is a paradigm shift from the physics and biology we all learned/are learning in school. It discusses cellular and tissue function as a co-operative whole, not as the mechanistic bits and pieces, locks and keys, that we are all familiar with. She delves deeply into the concept of the liquid crystal structure of the body, and the importance of coherence for proper function. Dr J's is the only other book I have read that discusses this concept, although he doesn't delve into the issue very deeply. To me, her explanations seem intuitively correct.
Here is a good explanation of some of the concepts:
The Heart Math book is more of a discussion on why heart/brain coherence, or being in the Now with appreciation/gratitude, is important for decreasing stress and improving the immune system and over-all health. There are exercises to help readers reach improved states of coherence. A much more hand's on book than Mae-Wan's, but the concepts in both are equally important in my opinion.
An explanation of these concepts by another author:
2010 - Dx ADHD, Tourette’s, Aspergers, motor delay, symptoms of PANS/PANDAS autoimmune neurological syndrome.
Jan 2011 – bartonella pain symptoms begin.
June 2011 - Igenex PCR positive bartonella, IND lyme. CD57 18. Positive ANA (speckled type), heterozygous A1298C MTHFR. Multiple Abx, herbal, homeopathic treatment.
April 2013 - Weaned from abx treatment. Continuing wth Buhner, methylation/detox protocols, Terry Wahls gf/cf/sf diet. Minimizing EMF exposure
April 2014 – Symptoms 99% resolved. ANA titers negative. Mainstream classroom, no accommodations, B+/A student.
