IHL, I am currently going through the same symptoms so I know the hell that you are going through. Crazy thoughts do go through your mind because nothing seems to get rid of them headaches. I never knew that the body could take so much punishment and keep going.
I have been doing a lot of reading about
headaches and below is what I have found so far that could help you or make you consider other causes:
MRSA: Run and get Manuka Honey. Go to Amazon and read the reviews of how it has helped a ton of people with MRSA. It is also antiviral and it will control some of the co-infections that we suffer from.
Ammonia in the brain (Hepatic encephalopathy): Apparently, ammonia impacts the brain if the liver is unable to eliminate the toxins properly from the blood. I take Rifampin and I think that this is overloading my liver and giving me headaches on top of creating more ammonia from the bacteria it kills. Your doctor can test you for Hepatic encephalopathy. It should also help you see if your headaches are due to toxins.
By the way, too much protein can cause headaches so it is something to consider. Most of my diet consist of protein so i can see that being an issue.
Consider stopping your treatment: If you have bacterial overload, stopping for a day or two should lessen the toxins and allow your body to catch up. If you get worse or stay the same, then you will know that it is not toxin related.
Blood sugar: Not many of us consider blood sugar disorder as a Lyme condition, yet we recognize the symptoms. Buy a glucose and ketone meter to test your sugar levels. I for example have tested normal when i have blood tests done at the doctor, but after eating I feel weak and dizzy (Postprandial). At times I also suffer the symptoms of either too little sugar (Hypoglycemia) or too much sugar (Hyperglycemia) so you may also want to consider that. For me, this may help explain my recent symptom of frequent urination, inability to sleep, nerve pain, and these sharp headaches when I move my eyes or head.
Pinched nerve: A few weeks ago i went to the doctor because that day I thought I was going into a coma from the severity of my headaches. My doctor checked my neck and found that I was extremely tense. He suggested heat and ice. Well, I have been doing these shoulder exercises and neck exercises and it has helped some. The headaches that started at the back of my neck are not as sever and it has also helped a little with the eye pain. It felt like fibers inside my brain and eyes were being pulled back and were all tangled at my brain so each time I moved, I would pull on these nerves.
Thyroid issue: This one is interesting. I didn't know that a thyroid condition can cause headaches. For example, I found that it causes stomach issues and that causes headaches. I read somewhere that some headaches are secondary to thyroid issues. Either because of the lymph nodes not working properly/over taxed and this then causes headaches, the gut having issues due to the endocrine system impacting it then the gut leaks, it then lets toxins in the blood that cause headaches. This is why detoxing is preached heavily here; because so many things can create toxins and at the end we end up with a headache.
Well, I had more stuff but I just got brain freeze and can't think of more. Oh yeah...sex also helps with headaches. been tellin' the wife that for years but she thinks I'm kidding
Carambas! I over did it with my post being so looooong...sorry about
