My LLMD told me that ILADS says the patient has to be completely symptom-free for two months before going off abx.
Based upon my reading and what I've seen in ILADS-related youtube videos, it seems many of the doctors liked an herbal protocol afterwards.
Our immune systems take quite the hit ala Lyme. It makes sense to support the immune system during treatment and afterwards.
It seems we all have to finetune things to our individual situations.....and it can sometimes be a matter of trial and error. blech
7/14/14 removed nymph deer tick and started 200mg doxy for 3 wks per PCP the next day
9/18/14 met LLMD who clinically dx'd me with Lyme due to Bells Palsy and started me on ABX
10/23/14 Igenex/CDC positive for Lyme
Symptoms mostly related to peripheral nervous system - are we having fun yet?
