LOL! I'm so sorry, I have meant to do an update in the Chronic Tonic thread, but I get busy!
Thank you both for asking about
So I restarted treatment with the CT on August 14, 2014 so I've now officially been in treatment for 4 months.
I'm actually doing significantly better, although I do have a bit to go yet. The problem is, it's hard to separate out what's Lyme, what's adrenal and what's thyroid - then from time to time, I wonder if I actually did pick up a co-infection - we all know how common that is!! So we'll see how this all turns out when I feel like my actual Lyme symptoms are taken care of and what I'm left with.
But other than wondering about
things, here is what has improved:
My energy levels are starting to return!!!! I'm nowhere near ready to go out on adventures - but with Lyme and
Addison's I started to wonder if I would ever want to get out of my chair again.
My migraines are slowing down!! I had a whopper of a migraine yesterday (& slept most of the day), but overall, they are coming less often.
My sleep has improved!!! I was only sleeping 4 -5 hours a day - with no naps. Now I regularly sleep 7 - 9 hours a night. And surprises of surprises - sometimes I don't wake to go pee!!!!! That's a first for me! Once in a while it would happen, but on average, 3 nights a week I now sleep all the way through the night!
My pain levels are quite high right now, but that's joint pain - especially damaged or arthritic joints that are really up. I have discovered with this reinfection that when I have Lyme, the cold brings pain - lots of pain to those joints already affected with something else. But I'm very blessed with a wonderful doc who not only insists on using natural meds & supplements, but who understands the need of detoxing when one is ill! She even raised her eyebrow at me when I told her I had not been soaking in a tub, although she thought it was funny when I described what my "tub" was!!!
Okay, what I was trying to say has improved is my muscle pains, spasms, cramping, tingling, burning and other nerve related issues! I was back to hitting myself in the face while I slept - embarrassing to wake up with a bruised lip and not know why! One morning when the kids were all up for a visit, I woke with a perfectly matching bruise on both my upper and lower lip! I had smacked myself hard enough to leave a bruise on both!
Also, no frozen shoulder!! I was quickly reaching that point again, but it has cleared up! And less tremors in my hands and legs! Less dropping things too! Boy is that
a nice change!
While I have noticed that I'm still quite a bit more sensitive to smells, noise doesn't hurt like it used to. I can reach "overload" still, but it's no longer painful when the surrounding noises are louder than usual. I live in a quiet house!! LOL! And when 2 roudy grandsons (ages 2 & 1/2 and 5 yrs) come to stay for a couple of days, it's loud!!! LOL!
Photosensitivity comes and goes now instead of being ever-present.
My innerds are settling down too!!
This is another really big one for me. My innerds are the first to react and the last to heal. Yet another happy dance worthy moment!
Less severe brain fog!! Although I still deal with days where I'm not seeming to "get" everything, things have definitely improved!
There are several other smaller improvements that I've had, but I can say that most of my symptoms have improved - I'd say I'm about
50 - 60% better now.
I recently felt like I really turned a corner, after a particularly bad 2 weeks with intestinal issues - then 2 nights of serious contemplation of an emergency room visit. But I know especially with my intestinal issues, they would have no idea what to do with me, so there's no use in going. I was in severe cramp mode, so I had to use lots of heat, very, very gentle massage & using a Moxa stick (for those that are using Chinese Medicine) and very little food (!!) and I got past it. Boy I hate those times! But without Lyme, I don't deal with them!!!
So here's to hoping that I won't be in treatment or at least will be feeling a lot better too far into the Spring as my biggest goal is to get back out and plant a BIG (but not extensive) garden this year and be able to tend it!!
