Are you taking a decongestant? It's possible that your sinuses are full and causing a lot of pressure. To find out, lean over forwards - does the discomfort increase? If so, it's likely due to your sinuses being full.
I take a decongestant every four hours for days when this hits me. If I don't I end up with a sinus infection. Sometimes I need to use something for mucous that has a decongestant in it too to help break it up.
And antihistamine will calm down CNS symptoms for many people, so it's something else that you can try. If you are sure it's a cold and not the flu, zinc will help end it sooner.
And Elderberry is known to help with the flu and raising the immune system(so be careful so you don't herx!): www.webmd.com/vitamins-and-supplements/lifestyle-guide-11/supplement-guide-elderberry
I hope you feel better soon!!!
