In general, you can still consume synthetic forms of the Bs, you just won't benefit from them, so you should continue supplementing w/ the methyl or hydroxy forms of what you're taking.
I did try an AWESOME Garden of Life (my probiotic brand) food powder, it was GMO free, organic, full of raw enzymes goodness… I loved loved loved it. But I also noticed my hair falling out in clumps. Blaming it on everything else for almost a year, I finally accidentally discovered this particular brand sourced its brown rice from an area in China notorious for heavy metals. Once I stopped using it, hair stopped falling out. Of course, then I also had to add hvy metal detox to everything. It was horrible. I bring it up because it was the best product I could find. Once they resource the rice, I will go back to it. But I found nothing else out there broad enough to be a meal replacement.
Based on your descript
ion of the "acne", I'm going to throw out another possibility… All of a sudden, my face and chest looked like
I had a crazy break out… but it also looked and acted a little different than your typical acne. Again, after tons of research, visiting other forums, talking w/ others w/ the same… I finally discovered it wasn't acne, it was my skin's reaction to yeast overgrowth. I was busy tackling this problem even before I realized I had lyme & co. or what yeast overgrowth was.
Antifungals helped, but for the skin, I started using a couple of products that cleared everything up and my skin has never looked better (the ONLY thing going right these days)… Products are a little expensive, from Ovante, you can order online from skin improvements.com. All ingredients are natural! Shipping is fast, customer service is great. "Cleanser D" face cleanser is actually for demodex sensitive skin (demodex are skin mites that we all have, but those of us w/ autoimmune problems are just more sensitive to them) and an anti fungal cream.
In fact, the acne like bumps on arms chest, back, shoulders, face could be a heightened reaction to demodex, or increased demodex because your immune system isn't managing the problem because it's overwhelmed. Either way, shower every night before bed using a tea tree oil based soap and change your sheets/pillow case every other night or every night is even better and do this for a couple of wks, wash and dry linens in hot temps and see if that helps. If it does, this is probably your problem and I can share more tips…
If it is truly acne, your body just can't keep up w/ the toxin build up. I'd do more detox baths, dry brushing, exercising/sweating (and shower right afterwards).
I drink aloe vera juice, very helpful, and my gastro also has me on "intestinal repair formula"… there are several brands for this… the great thing about
repairing your gut is that you automatically get a boost to your immune function, since 70 percent of your immune function IS your gut. I have read that glutamine can also be poorly absorbed for some people w/ methylation problems.
I think you're right in focusing entirely on GI repair. Once you've made some progress, then you can reintroduce other support that will be absorbed and utilized more efficiently.
