Babesia is a parasite similar to malaria, so normal lyme ABX protocols are not that effective.
Mepron combined with Zith is a favorite. Malarone works better than Mepron for some folks, and the herb artemisinin (or a derivative) should be pulsed in these protocols. Some folks also have success with short course of Coartem which is derived from artemisinin family. All of these are very expensive to take and you need to treat Babs for a minimum of 4 months which is the life cycle of a red blood cell. Many treat for years.
Buhner's is now favoring Cryptolepsis, Sida Acuta, and Alchornia for Babs treatment alongs with Cat's Claw and Japanese Knotweed in the core protocol. There are other herbs recommended based on individual symptoms. Houttuynia is also used.
Byron White has an A-Babs herbal formula that also helps many folks, but they tend to be pricey as well.
I'm sure others can add more.
Some of my babs sx just relapsed after five years of treatment. Be prepared for a long battle.
