Even the CDC says that positive test results aren't necessary!! I would push her more on why she feels this is so necessary. The only reasons I'm aware of for the need of a positive test is for insurance purposes and for the patient's own peace of mind.
Seriously, it makes no sense what so ever for a LLMD to require a positive test, unless they are more worried about
being persecuted than treating those that have been infected and are being ignored. These doc's are actually part of our issue - when they say they are LLMD and still require the same standards as IDSA docs.
