I am herxing so bad right now, that I just want to cry. Swollen joints, sharp pain in my neck. Burning skin, headache and chills. Is there anything that I can do to help my body? I have detox tea here, but I am not sure if that is a good idea.

Thanks so much

Sonne, what else are you doing for detox?

Yes, detox tea is good. Just don't drink a gallon of it to start....have a cup...then a couple hours later another cup. What are the ingredients?

Are you having warm epsom salt baths? Those are good. If you don't have the epsom salts yet, then have the warm baths anyway.

Do you drink lots (8 glasses) of water every day? Add fresh lemon juice into some of them? (Use a straw not to damage your teeth)

Don't do everything all at once. Start with the lemon juice in water...and your tea, and warm baths.

Then tomorrow buy some epsom salts if you don't have them...and have a warm bath...but don't stay in very long to start...just 5 minutes...and increase your time slowly.

Buy a natural bristle brush and start dry brushing your body before your baths.

You can buy Nutramedix Burbur and Brain-Nerve Cleanse - I find they work really well for herxing.

You can also buy a binder - like Activated Charcoal. But, it must be taken away from meds and supplements - two hours on either side.

Are you taking probiotics to keep your gut healthy? And are you taking milk thistle seed extract to support your liver? That's important too.

Girlie thanks so much for always helping me, you have no idea how much I appreciate it. I did not do anything detox wise yet, so u am a complete newbie. I am about to take a quick bath. The only thing to support my health is that I switched to a complete vegan diet. I have lost 52 lbs since I got sick, my stomach was always upset...

In the "New to Lyme?..Start Here.." thread at the top of the page, there's a list of detox methods...you can take a look there, too.

So, not a hot bath, a nice warm bath....and make sure you buy epsom salts tomorrow if you can...and maybe start with a 1/2 cup.

I only use about a cup in my baths...some people use a few cups.

Drinking water is crucial...so start that, today, too. Do you have any lemons? If not, maybe buy some tomorrow, too..or whenever you go shopping next.

And probiotics, must take those....

So regularly - and every day if possible start as soon as you can:
1. Warm epsom salt baths. (start low amount and don't stay in too long to start)
2. Water, water, water - add lemon to some.
3. Probiotics
4. Milk thistle seed extract (can get capsules)

Then you could purchase these:

5. Buy Pinella Burbur and Brain-Nerve Cleanse
6. Buy natural bristle brush.

Others will be along with some other ideas, too, I'm sure.

I also use the Activated charcoal to bind the toxins and take them out of my body.

I will get everything tomorrow, so excited. The bath felt great, I will squeeze a lemon now and put it in a liter bottle of water. trying hard to drink a lot. Where can I get the Pinella burbur? They should sell the salt at walgreens right?

♡ Thank you so so much

You could also try lowering the dose until you can tolerate it.

For tonight you can try a dose of Benedryl too. It always took a double dose for me, but that can really make some people sleepy, so be careful.

Alka seltzer gold is something that helps lots of people too.

Adding peroxide to the Epsom Salt baths helps a lot too.

Far-infrared sauna use is one of the best ways to detox toxins in the tissues, so if you have access to one, start using it slowly too.

Activated charcoal is something that bind the toxins - but it will also bind to everything else, so you have to keep it at least 2 hours away from food, liquids, and meds/supplements that you want your body to absorb. If you can find a 4 hour block of time where you aren't eating/drinking/taking meds - then take it in the middle of that - or just before you go to bed.

And realize that detoxing isn't something you do just when you feel bad. It's not very effective if you reserve it for that. You need to be detoxing daily, although you will have things that you only want to do every few days or once a week, depending on your body's reaction. We are here to help guide you as you find what works for you.

I purchase my Nutramedix Pinella and Burbur from IHerb.

I find they work for me. I'm still waiting for my Alka seltzer gold...I can't get it in Canada, and twice trying to buy it online from the States, it was sold out...so hoping it comes with my order that I'm waiting for.

Does Walgreens have a pharmacy section? If so, they should have epsom salts.

Also, what Teregram said - if with detoxing, you are suffering bad from the herx, you can also lower your antibiotics for a few days...until you feel better...
