I thought I posted again.
I now have an infected finger, though it hasn't developed into anything major at this point.
The doctor suspects MRSA, but the culture hasn't come back yet.
Very scary stuff.
Beginning to let go of my ER ordeal a bit, but I think I need counseling. Basically what I had was minor surgery, but I felt the whole thing, the scalpel going in and everything.
I have a lot to deal with and to let go of and to face.
I'm trying to face the possibility of my own death, but even though it happens to everyone, it's still terrifying.
You're going to laugh, but the absolute worst thing for me would be to have to give up swimming, especially skinny dipping!!
I LOVE swimming, and obviously getting the river isn't always a good thing, even if it is a "National Heritage" site.
Right now, I can't even shower or take baths. That's not so good either, bc I rely heavily on my Epsom Salt and Dead Sea Salt baths.
The foot baths just don't do it.
The other thing that's really scary is that if you have MRSA on a limb, you can have that limb amputated to prevent the MRSA from spreading.
But if it's on your back???? Then it can go to bones, organs, bloodstream, etc.
I just can't sit here and think about
all of this, but then on the other hand, it's kind of hard to put a positive spin on it, especially when people don't "get it." Although I guess maybe they would get MRSA a little bit.
Most of the people I knew were pretty clueless about
C. Diff. too though, although doctors understood.
I just want to know: How do I do this? What's my next step? What should my attitude be towards this whole thing.
I am basically scared crapless (sorry mods).
Ha ha, I just read my own "published" post, and it was changed to "crapless."
