I am getting a colonoscopy this week and as you all probably know we can only eat broth, ice pops and jello. Jello and ice pops are all sugar. What does one do if we have lyme and candida? I do eat some sugar but not all day. I have stomach issues to begin with that I think could be candida so I am not dying to live on sugar for the day. Maybe I am better off with the sugar free stuff which is a chemical and also not good.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.

You can make your own ice pops from fruit juice that you make yourself. That way you are only getting the sugar from the fruit itself.

Prepare a couple of different broths ahead of time, that way you can choose what sounds best and can switch back and forth, depending on how much time you will be spending on this diet. I always pushed for mine to be as early in the am as I could possibly handle so that I didn't have to go through too much of this!

What about veggie juices?

And best of luck!!!

Broths and you can have all sorts of flavored teas. Peach tea is lovely. And, if you want it cold you do not have to do all that heating the water, etc. I have a half gallon jug in my fridge and I fill it with filtered water and drop in my magic mint tea bag. You don't have to put it in the sun to be sun tea. It will make tea on the kitchen counter if you want it too and then add ice cubes. They have tons of flavored teas and decaf is totally possible.

You can also make jello with fruit juice & plain gelatin. My husband just had his done last week & we made him Apple jello; was a welcome change from the Gatorade and ginger ale.

had to drink 64 oz. of gatorade with mirilax. all the sugar in the gatorade gave me heartburn. This will be a set back with my candida issue. Yuch!!!

I did not have the colonoscopy procedure.  After taking 4 doses of Colace I ended fainting twice....really, really bad experience.  I landed on my back during the second fall and hurt my tail bone and had a wonker of a knot on the back of my head.  Anyway, I wasn't about to take the Miralax after that happened.  I was on a meat and veggie diet for about 1 1/2 months to deal with c-dif and yeast infections and I believe my blood sugar was low (?).  My sister did some research and she found an article that stated colace taken with herbal therapies can cause problems....who knows.  I am very upset I could not get this done.  Colon cancer runs in the family and I was really interested in how the linin of my colon was holding up.
