On page 177 of his latest coinfection book that addresses Bartonella, Buhner recommends fresh-leaf Houttuynia tincture because it is "the most potent form of the plant as medicine". Powder forms were found to be lacking.
Buhner recommends equal amounts of Houttuynia, Isatis and Alchornea to total 1/2 tsp tincture that is to be taken 3x daily.
This is only one part of his new Bartonella protocol.
I highly recommend reading the book:lymebook.com/buhner-lyme-coinfections-bartonella-mycoplasma-2013-book
Bartonella is a challenging infection to treat. Buhner comments on his website that "research is ongoing" and the protocol listed there was the most up to date protocol. Well, his website hasn't been updated in a few years. Updates happen on Buhner's Facebook page now.
His latest-greatest protocol is based upon the latest-greatest research.
