The ups and downs....WOW!

Many here have been in the position where they "start" to some decent days more often?

On the other hand, those days where you think "is this ever going to end"?

How and when do you step up treatment? Do you take it slow and carry on?

I know many have been there and suggestions for us newbies would be great....)

Thanks

ps felt decent before....stepped up meds and detox and oooouuuch!

Wow is an understatement about the ups and downs lol

I was very fortunate to the extent that I started off with mild symptoms. However, I herxed my butt off on abx but got to 90% after 5 months.

That's when my LLMD had me transition to an herbal protocol (my choice of Buhner, Cowden or White and I chose Cowden for simplicity). Unfortunately for me, almost 6 months on the full Cowden protocol resulted in some herxing but no improvements.

When I started the switch to Buhner's Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella protocols in August of last year, I herxed quite a bit on the Babs and Bart herbs - so much so that I had to back down on my doses a few times.

I was only up to 8 drops each of the Babs and Bart herbs as of early December, yet I was up to 98% healed, I'd say. I had continued to increase my detoxing all along and things seemingly "clicked". I was then able to increase to full doses (1/4 tsp - 1/2 tsp) of all the herbs by mid-December.

Things came to a bit of a standstill for me last month due to my thyroid crashing as well as some extreme life stress but improvements are once again starting to happen - yay :)

I've actually been able to reduce the detoxing I do but know I will detox for the rest of my life.

I think listening to your body is paramount. If you can handle more aggressive treatment without major herxing, go for it. If you herx too much, you're doing nothing to help your body heal. Instead, you're promoting increased inflammation and, of course, malaise.

Slow and steady wins the race.....to the end.

Since our journeys tend to be insanely long, I wholeheartedly believe we need to do whatever we can to live our lives in the process....with minimal herxing.

I think the most important thing I had to LEARN about those goods days was not to overdo it. I would feel good and I thought I was superwoman and would try and get all the housework done, buy groceries, do the ironing and call or meet with friends that I had neglected.

BAD IDEA! I would pay dearly the next day!

On a good day I only did 1 thing that was a chore. The rest of the time I just took it easy. I did not alter my herbs nor my detox on a good day. I thought the routine was what got me here, so don't stop or alter.

I still need to paint a mural on my living room wall that says Patience.

lol...patience is right!

those days you spoke of,thinking "i am going to do everything today"! until the end of the day hits...then i realize...pace yourself.

when i first met the llmd he said,"i am pretty sure this is lyme and you have had it for some time" followed by
"this will be a marathon, not a sprint, and i will be with you for it"

being a type a- personality........patience is being learned now,on a positive note.....living cleaner(diet,light exercise).it seems i look at every day differently now? as if.......sick or not,what a gift?

crazy....i know
