When I first started detoxing after a full year on abx without detoxing even once, I was in serious trouble. Every single thing I did was either extremely painful or created a massive herx because I was so over loaded with toxins. I still got through it by moving very slowly, but I also understood just how important detoxing is to our healing - as in you won't heal without doing it. There are very, very few people that have these infections that can go through treatment without detoxing quite a bit without adding a lot of time to their treatments because of having to stop treatments so their body could detox.
You have to introduce them slowly. We can walk you through it. Just pick one you want to try adding it. Oil pulling is something that won't make any massive changes right away and it's really easy to add in.
Dry skin brushing is another really good one to add in because it won't make you herx, but will have an effect on two different detox pathways - the skin and the lymph system.
If you added those two thing in this week, you would be that much closer to finding the right amount of detoxing for your body, and there are more things that you can add in that won't cause you to herx. The key is to not try to add them in too quickly.
And yes, inflammation can cause a LOT of discomfort! Lyme is an inflammatory infection - meaning we have inflammation in between our cells, not to mention any swelling you may have that you can see.
If you aren't taking anything for inflammation, I suggest turmeric - or it's extract, curcumin - but if you get the curcumin, get it with pepperine (black pepper extract) in it as it makes it more effective according to the science. I just use turmeric.
