Going through a very rough time, hence my absence...

I caught gastroentiritis a few weeks ago, followed by a nasty mean viral infection that got me on my knees a few days ago. I can't stay up longer than 20mins, 102.2° fever, bronchitis, rhinitis, cold sores and a serious glossitis.
I think that along with all this, I'm having an EBV flare up. I started taking L-Lysine yesterday.

My tongue looks like a battle field, inside all swollen and feeling bumpy, outside covered with very red patches and white in the middle. Really hurts. I had it many times before, but never as bad as it is now.
Can anyone help me with a remedy? I don't dare to use a classic mouth wash, I can hardly eat, let alone rinse my mouth with an alcohol based liquid. I read about a few remedies online, but wanted to hear about your experiences.

Thank you!

Oh my gosh I wish I could help but I have no clue.

Will definitely have you in the thoughts.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this Marie.

This page had stated that it could be caused by either an iron or vitamin B deficiency. Correcting that could solve the issue. www.hxbenefit.com/glossitis.html

Another site stated suggested these home remedies-flossing twice a day and washing the mouth twice a day with lukewarm sal***er can also help in treating the condition.

This may be helpful-

I can do more research if you need it. If I remember correctly we are in the same area. If you need help let me know.

Liquid Benadryl can act like a topical anesthetic, so can be used as a mouth rinse to numb the pain so you can eat. Don't swallow the Benadryl, spit it out after swishing it around in your mouth for a minute or so.

IIRC, Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause glossitis, also...

Sorry I don't have any other ideas, but do agree detoxing may help.

So very sorry you're dealing with this, Marie!

Low thyroid certainly doesn't help with preventing illness nor healing....and it can cause or exacerbate nutritional deficiencies.

Others have given you suggestions that sound quite promising. Hope you get relief soon!!!
