I have recently made tinctures and am one month into my original batch and starting to learn about
detoxing better as I have been a bit aggressive. The tincture path is one that I was glad I learned.
There are many different ways to tincture and depending on the herb and whether its powdered/fresh and alchohol ratios will all change things. You can even experiment and be creative with them! (I have a red sage light whiskey that is very pleasant, it was only a 200mL batch but was a fun experiment to try!) There are many ways to tincture, so experiment and learn about
the herbs you are taking. Many can be grown at home as well if you enjoy the green thumbing and have the area for it.
Here is a site I found very useful, it starts with folk methods and progresses into some very advanced methods. You may not take it all but you may take something :)I found a hidden hobby that has saved me a fortune!
Also if you're Canadian, especially in Ontario as liquor taxes are very high and ratios are very low, you will likely want to cross borders for proper alchohol concentrations, and maybe state to state as well.
Oh! I almost forgot, I personally will be switching to plastic mason jar lids as some of the herbs and alchohols have reacted with the lids (not the sealed portion but the ring).
