Forgive me for being so bold, but your daughter's reaction to the meds is the same as I had. She doesn't need a psychologist necessarily, though. This is a common reaction to getting treatments for these infections. It's due to the die off of the bacteria, a herx/healing crisis.
Is she doing much for detoxing? Did she just start at the full dose? These are common mistakes patients make and they can be hard to recover from, although many do - it's just a tough road.
Using only one abx for treatment is never a good approach - something we've learned the hard way, as the bacteria can hide in muscles/joints/biofilms/brain and can change it's outer surface protein many times in order to confuse the immune system - and the abx. Most often people use 3 different abx to attack the bacteria in all 3 forms.
I would really encourage your daughter to join (or not) and do some reading on this forum. It's better of course if she interacts with us though. If interested, you/she can read my basic story (lots of details left out) by following the link that appears in the bottom of each of my posts. There are a number of members on here that have lots of good knowledge and information that she can read through their posts as well - or just search the forum for topics. Just use the term Lyme in front of any other term you use to help keep the results mostly from the Lyme forum.
Do be very choosy who she talks with as you don't want her being "led down a path", she needs to make her own treatment choices and to do as needed. Since I interact with a lot of Lyme patients, I've heard so many stories about
people being told to do this and that and it not being right for them.
