I was diagnosed with severe adrenal fatigue that also 'took down' my thyroid so that I"m now hypothyroid. The thought is that when my adrenals heal, my thyroid will also heal - then I got reinfected. Talk about
having to move slowly through treatments!! Ugh.
The obvious is the 'de-stressing' we always talk about
, but if you actually have adrenal fatigue, you may need more help than that. It all depends on just how badly affected your adrenals are affected. One of the most informative and accurate sites I've found for adrenal information is this: /www.drlam.com/articles/adrenalexhaustion.asp
I was at the bottom of stage 3 - just one step above addison's.
There is a lot of really good information on that site, but I don't follow his protocol, nor have I ever consulted with him in any way. My healing path has been different.
So, depending on where you actually are (there's a LOT of symptom overlap with these infections), will then direct your treatment. The only accurate testing is a 4 time a day saliva collection tests. Blood and urine testing is just a 'snapshot' in time - meaning they will only know how your adrenals are doing at that point in the day, whereas the 4 time a day saliva collection will tell them what your adrenals are doing throughout the day.
