I also live in Switzerland.
I was cured by 2 practitioners. I mean, I don't have lyme anymore, and I was in very bad shape initially (I was the worst patient of my lyme doc years ago).
If you go to a hospital WITHOUT lyme specialists, they may kill you.
Sorry to be so direct, but I would NEVER let myself be treated in a 'normal' hospital here in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, France.
No way, they don't even provide you with Vit C, if you ask.
If they decide you have Borrelia and treat you with antibiotics, it's anyway short time treatment.
My daughter got a prescript
ion for IV Rocephin in Munsterlingen Hospital, not far from Germany.
To tell you the truth, I only let them give her 2 days of the IV antibiotic, then pulled her off.
The reason I pulled her off the treatment was that the Oberarzt (main chief MD) told me that, if she didn't heal in 2 weeks antibiotics, he would give her a 3rd week.
If she didn't heal still, they would INJECT CORTISONE in her knee (that was double size, a full lyme relapse in the middle of the winter).
I told him: 'She's got a lyme relapse, it's January, no ticks. Chronic patients are not supposed to receive cortisone, right?'
He got mad at me!
He said he was offering us the BEST treatment that exists, and that there is NOTHING else that can be done, nothing better! They were doing their best to my daughter!
There were about
7-8 other MDs following our talk. No one
opened their mouth.
Next day, I pulled her off the hospital. The Oberarzt told me 'If you do that, she may lose her knee forever!!' All other physicians looked at me as though I was a witch, trying to kill my daughter.
They have NO CLUE on how to treat chronic lyme!
I had my other lyme doctors, so I didn't want her to go through these physicians. It's hopeless with them.
I just took her to hospital, because I thought she had BROKEN her knee, as it was so swollen, so suddenly.
Chronic lyme treated in 3 weeks then cortisone to a child of 5 years old?!! No way.
The most known figure here in Dr. Satz in Zurich, that I promised myself, never go see him again. Another catastrophe. He is THE tick borne disease specialist of Switzerland!!
In his words: a patient cannot have babesiosis if he has a GALL BLADDER!! The fact that I had mine, made me a mental patient thinking I had babesiosis. I had all symptoms, but also a galbladder! Or was it the SPLEEN?
He wrote that in a book that I read long ago. It made no logic to me, that is why I can't remember anymore which organ it was....
He treated my babesia air hunger with anti-catarrh pills!
I kept them until today, to REMEMBER never to see this big lyme specialist again!
There was a female physician I forgot the name, treating lyme with antibiotics, long ago. The only one in Switzerland.
But when I called her, about
11 years ago , she had no place for new patients. Logic!
My own lyme doctor still accepts patients, but you got to go into a waiting list. He follows dr. K and is in Zug, near Luzern.Of course, he can prescribe you antibiotics. He's got long experience with lyme treatment.
My lyme naturopath is near Freiburg, in Germany. She's been treating lyme (near the Black Forest!!) for more than 20 years and was the right hand of dr. K.
But there are many others, in Germany, if you are there. Just go to the website INK and look for practitioners.
Antibiotics is not a warrant of cure for anyone. Many people never improve with antibiotics. Even guys like dr. H (new york) are using holistic approaches.
If you need to stay in hospital due to health conditions, and can afford treatment, I would go to Paracelsus too!!
Many American patients arrive there AFTER MASSIVE ANTIBIOTIC therapy, many cannot even walk or stand up anymore! In total chaos. They arrive at Paracelsus as their last hope.
They also treat severely ill patients there!
There, they look at you as a whole human being, with gut microbes, teeth, immune system, liver, kidney, a lymph system, hormones...
Their level, in my opinion, is like LIGHT YEARS AHEAD from what's done in normal hospital here!!
Never try to get yourself to normal hospitals to treat chronic lyme. Not here in Switzerland!
Even if you CONVINCE a physician you got lyme, their protocol says MAXIMUM 3 weeks of antibiotics, then told cured.
