i was good untill june first of this year and it just hit me
Okay, well in that case it's a little more complicated. You might be reinfected or have had latent illness from the last bite. A lot of people get lyme with no knowledge of a bite so it really could be either one or even both. Since it could be recent then ignore what I said about
the doxy. It might still be useful, though more effective in the context of a comprehensive plan. As Krimpet said, everyone has a unique path to wellness and I won't tell you what you NEED to do. But I do have to urge the LLMD in the initial stages due to how critical this point in the illness is. Early illness is potentially curable whereas late illness is very difficult to get rid of (though not necessarily impossible). I'm normally weary of aggressive treatment, but in the initial stages I personally feel that being overly conservative (what your doc is doing) is too risky. Doxycycline is a very useful tool, but a very bad "cure" for lyme. Many LLMD's will put you on something like Doxy, zithromax and tinidazole or some other multi-drug regimen to try and cover more tissues/compartments as well as various morphological forms of the bacteria.
