Do you know if he is low GABA? He probably is since most of our transmitters are pretty screwed up with these viruses, bacterias. So I deal with these thoughts as well. From my research, the glutamate is not being toned down by GABA. These infections tend to up regulate glutamate and all those excitatory neurotransmitters. So, I would not use the tryptophan. What I have been using lately is Apex Energetics, GABAcore. You can look it up and ask your LLMD about it. It has to be ordered through your practitioner/doctor. It is great with taming/calming the mind. It has taurine, valerian, phenibut, riboflavin, and potassium. And I only need half of a capsule.
Our NP has him on Neuroscience Balance D and Neuroscience TravaCor - based on his neurotransmitter test and symptoms.
These do not help with the herxs those. Thanks for the tip on the tryptophan. I get confused when there are things that Buhner recommends that are shown on this board to may not always be a good idea! So tough!
(The only thing that helped these past several months was the antivirals!)
I feel like I took a step back and can't go forward again!
