"Interestingly Buhner in his herbal antibiotics book does not mention garlic and does not includes it in his antibiotic-herbs."
While garlic is natural, it's not an herb. This sure doesn't stop me from using plenty
of garlic in my cooking though!
There are herbs that are much more effective against the bacteria involved with these infections, though. Most abx don't work against these bacteria either though.
While I use stevia daily, and extensively (I can't use any other sweetener) for over 16 years now, I still needed actual treatment for these infections. So while it may be helpful, please don't count on it as a stand alone treatment.
It was touted as a biofilm buster as well - yet when I started Cistus tea (biofilm buster), I have had one heck of a problem, so I'm not so sure it's good for that either.
There are many things that will work in a lab, and even in clinical trials, but that doesn't mean that they work in the 'real world' - if you know what I mean. I know that a lot of people are using it on their own, and by a LLMD's direction, but if it did what that article claims it could do, the forums would be FULL of posts saying how people have healed using Stevia, as the report is nearly a year old, and it made a HUGE 'splash' in the Lyme world.
We have to keep looking for possibilities, and I'm glad that they did this study, but I sure don't believe it's an effective treatment for these infections or the biofilms.
