Fasting can actually be dangerous for some people with these infections. Our bodies usually lack good nutrition due to leaky gut, or other issues that these infections bring with them. Now, some people may feel better doing a short fast that only lasts a few hours, but I doubt that's what you are talking about.

There has not been any scientific evidence that fasting has any effect on these bacteria, and that kind of fasting would be very hard on the adrenals.

limiting anything key to the body is a BAD idea abhi. water, magnesium, etc. focus on making your body and immune system healthy. walk everyday. drink plenty of water and add your meds on top.

I know you (and all of us) want this gone yesterday, but:

This is going to take TIME. one day at a time for a long time. the key is to accept that and not fall into frustration, or despair. It will get better, please don't give up or keep shifting to new things. stay on track :)

Caramba.

I haven't heard of fasting killing lyme. I would think it would weaken the immune system. You want to build up your body so it can fight the infection along side whatever protocol you are using for killing the lyme. You need the 2 together, nutritional support for immunity, organ strength and a killing protocol. I think there is a spiritual element to healing because lyme depletes the life force energy. Meditation and positive thinking will help you too.

dont listen to these people talking about what they dont know. Fasting is ancient and will relieve symptoms in many cases of lyme and other chronic illness. please do your own research. there is a lot of great information on the web and youtube. fasting must be done with respect like everything. fasting is much less painful and dangerous than so many of the anti microbials that cause die off and herx to the point of people needing hospitalization. yes, in some rare case fasting may have been a problem but usually that is from incorrect procedure.

But you can only fast so long...and even if fasting did promote the bacteria into die-off (not sure how that would happen) - how do you fast long enough to get rid of the bacteria load? - enough so that your immune system can fight and help get the rest under control?

Fasting will not cure you of Lymes I fasted for 16 Days on water only and my body did not rid of the bacteria. However I can say Fasting is a Great tool to have in you're Arsenal as it really resets you're body and detoxifys.

After my 16 days water fasting I ate stir fry with noodles. HUGE MISTAKE! Fasting is a chance to refresh you're body it makes everything you put back in you're body so much more powerful!

I have Morgellons/Lyme here in Australia I will be starting a 7 day Distilled Water fast tomorrow followed up by 3 days BurBur-Pinella and Parsley Detox while fasting. I will also be eating a strict vegetable stock diet and adding in anti microbials after my 10 Day Water Fast/Detox.
I'll be using the Cowden Support Protocol and keeping busy having fun.

Long story Short fasting won't cure you of Lyme but it will help because you're body will be less clogged up and the herbs/food you put in afterwards will have more effect.
Best Regards, Corey.

Hi CoreyTucker - welcome to our community.

Do you have a LL Dr. to treat you...or are you self-treating with the Cowden Protocol?
