When you've lived with illness for so long, how do you gauge what's normal and what isn't? I have lived with pain since my teen years so like 15 years now so I usually just figure my pain is normal because it is to me. I will sometimes bounce stuff off my husband and he is always surprised at what I ask. So how do you tell what's normal?
Is it normal to wake up sore and stiff all over regardless of activity levels the day before?
Is it normal to wake up tired?
Is it normal to end up sore all over after having to be out and about for a few hours?
Is it normal to want to just chill in bed when you have a down moment?
Is it normal to have dull achiness in your abdomen much of the day?
Is it normal for standing and walking around to wear you out?
I don't know what's normal. This is why I have a hard time articulating to my doc about what's going on. I mean, when a migraine hits is severe and sudden and has a beginning and an end so that's what I focus on. But the achiness and back pain and everything else is so constant, I forget to bring it up.
No to all of the above.
I was wondering if it's my new normal...but for about
a week...or more, I had days where the body pain and stiffness was not there when I got up...and for most of the day. It came back again a couple days ago...but I know it's possible for it to NOT be there...so if I can have several days of minimum or no pain and stiffness for most of the day...then I think it can be like that every day.
Three years ago (pre-lyme) I was never stiff...ever...and no body pain...except if I pulled a muscle every few years in my back (playing tennis)....
