Great info, PeteZa - thanks!
There's another form of magnesium that was discussed on here awhile back and that form helps the brain: magnesium threonate.
Based upon the benefits of the various forms of magnesium, it sounds like it might be beneficial to take more than one form.
"Did you know over 200 popular medications block magnesium, contributing to deficiencies. The primary offenders are antacids, acid blockers, hormonal contraception and diuretics. Supplementing helps, however, most forms of magnesium are hard on the stomach, or they cause diarrhea. Magnesium oxide is probably the worst form to take in my opinion, yet it is sold nationwide. You should be picky because many forms of magnesium don’t even penetrate your brain where you need it most." Suzy Cohen RPh
This matches PeteZa's paragraph under the 'worst' forms to take. Thank you for sharing PeteZa and CD3764. Good information.
And just like Girlie said, if we don't supplement, we will become deficient because we are sharing it with the bugs......
All I can say is, I feel better when I supplement, and suffer when I don't.
