I went round in circles thinking have I got lyme or not. I'd post of here and some people say yes and the odd person says no. Which is dangerous as I could take your advice and be left untreated. My German doc at bca clinic said I have lyme and the fact I had doxy not long ago would have killed some of the lyme forcing it into cyst form making it more difficult to treat. This could be why I'm not herxing.
Dr armin and bca lab are some of the best doctors in Europe. I trust they are treating my illness correctly. Many Dr including Dr jemsek in Washington treat based in symptoms not test results ad test results are there to support only.
I think you need to be careful saying people don't have lyme on this forum without knowing history.
You tested positive three times...you have symptoms of lyme disease...you had known tick bite.
No reason whatsoever to question the diagnosis...no one should be questioning it....period.
It is known that in the 'lyme world' the antibody tests don't follow the same progression from Igm to IgG like other diseases.
From Dr. Jemsek's website:
"However, a confounding fact in Bb infections is that the IgM antibody may persist for years, a very unusual situation in most disease states. Logically, one would have to conclude that this reflects an ongoing reactivation or persisting and continually renewing infectious state of Bb infection. Most active diagnostic laboratories involved with LD tend to agree with this notion. Therefore, the Jemsek Specialty Clinic acknowledges that a persistently positive IgM antibody response may qualify as laboratory confirmation for an active LD case."
