Has anyone heard of or believe Lichen Sclerosis could be connected to any Lyme co-infections? Has anyone developed it and are currently dealing with it? Some research is pointing to a connection. I am new here. I have tested negative for Lyme but have so many symptoms so many of you talk about....eye floaters, fillings falling out with part of the tooth, depression, panic attacks in the middle of the night, not sleeping, extreme fatigue, bad digestive issues, joint pain, headaches, jaw and ear pain, memory problems, confusion, losing words or train of thought during conversations, night sweats, nauseous, vulvar lichen Sclerosis (undiagnosed), adrenal issues, liver issues, ect........I have been searching and reading many posts on this site. I am lost as what to do and where to start. I live in a rural area in the Midwest so access to drs is limited. I only want to attack this naturally. I have VERY limited to no money to spend or waste. Some things I do have access to are: raw honey from my own hives, raw goat milk, homemade raw goat milk kefir, cheese, and yogurt( I have my own organically raised dairy goats), I grow most of my own veggies, herbs, raspberries, grapes, sour cherries, apples, peaches, i make Kombucha, i forage and wildcraft plants for food and homemade medicinals, I have a flock of free range/pastured organically raised laying hens, my goats and my husband and I eat grain free. Can any of what I have or can make help me fight this? Sorry for the long post. I am sure I have forgotten relevant info but may add later. Thanks for reading this. Forgot to mention heart palpitations and racing heart at times. Also a cough I have had for 2 1/2 yrs.

Not confusing that with vitaligo are you? That skin condition (thin, white no pigment colored skin patches- albino like)can occure anywhere and is autoimmune related.

And we all know lyme can make autoimmune start up.

Hi Goat Girl!
Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us!

I too live in the midwest (lower portion) and did live like you, only these infections finally took even that away from me. =(

If you haven't yet, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. And this is another good list of possible detoxing routines: www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html

There are studies that link Lichen Sclerosis with Lyme (borrelia):

www.bmj.com/rapid-response/2011/11/02/link-between-lichen-sclerosus-and-borrelia-burgdorferi-infection

www.jwatch.org/jd200807110000004/2008/07/11/lichen-sclerosus-and-borrelia-burgdorferi-are-we

And, this has been discussed on this board before:

Since you are already used to wildharvesting and using your own herbs, may I suggest you look into Buhner's protocols? They are all herbal and are presented with a great amount of detail in his books, but you can get an idea of what they are from this site, where the core protocols are listed:

Herb only treatment for Lyme & Bart ended 12/11 - no active symptoms for 2 yrs -Herb only treatment for Babesia ended 12/12

Had Lyme, Bart, Babs, RMSF, Ehrlichia, Myco, Anaplasmosis, EBV

No. I have severe insane itching, splits, atrophy, fusing, bruising, clear blister like areas, and lots of pain with any amount of pressure. The connection I come across in my researching was to Borrelia burgdorferi. Thanks for taking time to reply to my post. I appreciate all input and opinions.

I'm not sure I understand your last post??? The links I posted were about Lichen sclerosis and Borrelia burgdorferi - which is also known as Lyme disease.

Traveler....is there any other Buhner books you would recommend other than the one I just ordered? Also, any other author that might be helpful? I am so grateful for your support. I have no one in my life that is supportive that I can talk to. My husband doesn't care to be either. Most people in my life view my "natural" lifestyle weird and crazy. My husband is on board with some of my "natural" lifestyle choices but not all of them.

Because you list a lot of Neuro issues, I would encourage you to get his Bartonella book as well. You may need his Babesia book, but time will tell.

I raised my 2 kids with that lifestyle, so I understand. I did this because I couldn't work and yet knew I had to give my kids the best shot at having some health, after being born to an already very ill mom. Very few people have ever understood it - until I met others with these infections and most of them have thought that it was something smart for me to do - even if they wouldn't have done it. We had a full working farm, raised everything we ate, except wheat to grind, sugar, and a few other real basics. We also raised goats for milk and meat, chickens for meat and eggs, a cow for meat, and had massive gardens. Not many people understand this way of life, but if I could, I'd still be living it!

Do be sure to stay in touch with us!! We can be part of your support system!! Many here are doing this to the best of their ability as well, even if they don't want to live in the same manner, they are trying to eat as healthy as they can and to use herbs and other meds to heal their body.

I have taken a big step recently and have gone back to school - I have determined it's time for me to take this a step(or 4 or 5?) further and become a Clinical Herbalist. You are in good company here!!

Traveler....it is so wonderful to have someone who gets it. I too have a now weaned bottle calf that will go to the freezer when ready. He was bottled raw goat milk and is growing nicely. I also have three bucklings that will go to freezer camp when ready. I wouldn't give my lifestyle up for anything. It is so sad that more people won't or can't provide more of their own food and "medicine" I truly believe we all would be much healthier human beings. I will check out the other book you mentioned and purchase it when finances allow. Thank you. Back to school....fantastic! I wish you the best. I am just studying on my own. I follow Susan Weed, Rosemary Gladstar, and some others. I love it. Thanks again!
