Thank you. Yes, you lost me at 'other herbs that modulate cytokines' Greek to me.
No one on the Buhner list calls me back. One guy did call back after three weeks and said he had opening end of December for a phone consult and it was $200. Sounded a bit much but maybe that's what it is.
Just as you are taking Stephania as an alternate to Japanese Knotweed, I was trying to tell you that, in his Lyme book, Buhner mentions other herbs that achieve the same end as Dan Shen and Chinese Skullcap (which modulate cytokines).
Thing is - when mentioning the other herbs, Buhner doesn't put them in list format or as part of a suggested protocol. It's more that the reader would need to plod through a medicalease-type page in the book to identify possible alternates. To me, this makes an overwhelming situation all that much more overwhelming.
Because each of us winds up tailoring our own protocols, there's a chance an inexperienced person might select a less-effective option and that's where an herbalist can make a difference.
Late December doesn't seem all that unreasonable considering the long waits for LLMD appointments. Asking to be put on a cancellation list might help.
I got a LOT more out of my 1.5 phone consult with the herbalist than I did out of my first 1.5 hr LLMD appointment. When I think about
how much I paid my LLMD (not covered by insurance) and how much I spent on herbs/supplements, the herbalist is a bargain in every way.
