Hi Ktothez - welcome to our community!
To answer your question: Yes, herxing can last a week...or longer. You need to flush out the toxins that have accumulated from the die-off of the bacteria.
Some people have herxes last longer than a week.
We talk a lot about
detoxing methods here...because that is something that needs to be done on a regular basis.
Activated charcoal is one...but you need to do multiple methods on a daily basis.
Here are some detoxing suggestions:
- make sure you're drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily
- Squeeze some fresh lemon juice into some glasses
- take epsom salt baths
- dry brush your skin before the baths
- support your liver with liver support - eg. Milk thistle extract
- support your gut with probiotics
You will want to start with a couple methods...and every few days add in another one.
