Unfortunately, this is put out basically by IDSA - there are many stories of it not working too. That's why it's not included as a safe treatment by ILADS.
My personal take on it is that it may be helpful in some cases - but only if given immediately - as the bacteria does not stay in the skin for long. Lyme can go chronic in a short of a time as hours for some, a few days for others.
