Our doctor recommended we try cholestyramine powder for Kid#1 and Kid#2. Kid#2 is having physical flare-ups every few weeks (but otherwise, he's doing the best ever). Kid#2 has had a terrible year and struggles greatly, but he's actually better than previously (but not good - still struggling but more functioning).
I remember trying this many years back for Kid#1. It was one of many things we tried, and in all honesty, we didn't notice anything (good or bad) with him being on it at the time. (He was very difficult to treat, and many things failed to help him.) I also remember it had nutrasweet in it, and that drove me crazy. I can't find out whether there is nutrasweet in this current one yet (I assume it does).
They are on Buhner's herbals (JK, CC, Eleuthero, Cordyceps so far). They generally see no improvement from any detox methods (except Kid#1 finds detox tubs soothing).
I understand that we'd need to take this away from the herbals so it doesn't bind too much, correct?
I'm very hesitant about
taking it daily.
But what about
only taking it as needed during a flare-up or herx? Is it most effective taking daily so people don't take it as needed? Has anybody had any luck taking it as needed for flare-up/herx?
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but much better lately!
Kid#2: Very sick now despite being treated for years, very bad year
Kid#3: Doing great, minor relapse, but great again (ironically had least and shortest treatment)!
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids) - not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue, kidney, heart, and yeast issues
