It *may* be that the doctor doesn't want to admit to taking payments for Lyme disease services. I've heard of doctors doing this before. They deny treating Lyme patients to people on the phone and such, but if you have Lyme and are their patient, they will treat you appropriately. Just don't expect to see a "Lyme disease" diagnosis on your chart.
This allows them to treat their patients the way they feel their patients should be treated without having to argue or face penalties for treatment that doesn't line up with IDSA treatment standards.
Our doctors are being persecuted. They are being turned into the medical board of their state for not following IDSA treatment standards. Some loose their license right away, some have to have a monitor to approve every script
and every thing the do for each patient (costing the LLMD $$$$), and others have to close up and move out of state to stop the harassment. We have only a precious few that are brave enough to put everything they have on the line and help us.
