Recently DS has had new joint pains, a few that started before I gave him teasel and now after starting teasel, 2 drops a day at once, off and on for a week, he has new swelling in his original Lyme joint-his left knee- and a day prior to that cropping up again, his right ankle hurt and was swelling. He thinks that could be sports-related but I don't think so because he remembers no injury.
So, I read in Buhner to use teasel for joint pain so I bought the tincture. Then after the swelling started in the knee and ankle I did more research and read that it coaxes Lyme out of joints and it can be attacked by whatever method one is using to kill Lyme. It is hard to get reliable, consistent information on how these herbs work sometimes.
This happens to be an abx week plus he backslid some after going to 2 weeks of pulsing and 2 weeks completely off abx so we have that going on too. He is going back on 1 abx during his off weeks, in part because his mycoplasma numbers went back up. He was sick for 2 days this week with chronic fatigue rather than his usual 1 day.
Has anyone experienced joint swelling as a result of using teasel? I don't know whether to continue it or not. he is off it now for 3 days so I will see how he feels later today. We need to get rid of the Lyme but it also interferes with his life - the old Catch-22.
