I'm just finishing my first round of doxy after being on it for 3 weeks.
I have an apt. with my dr. today to discuss the next steps. I'm assuming I've had Lyme for 35 years, so I know this isn't going to be an easy process, but what antibiotic treatment would anyone suggest next?
I'm currently taking the antomicrobial samento.
Also, burbur for detox, along with some good pre and probiotics for gut health. Along with a bunch of other supplements...
Because I can't think very clearly, I'm trying to make this as easy as possible when I go to the dr.. It seems like she may be open minded to suggestions, so I'm wondering what I should be taking next.
is it a Lyme Literate Dr. you're seeing?
What is the dosage of doxy you're currently on? You should be taking 200 mg twice daily....it's alright to start lower as in 100 mg twice daily...but after three weeks, it's time to go up to higher dose.
You could add another antibiotic to the doxy. A macrolide is an option: Biaxin or azithromycin.
Do you know what co-infections you are dealing with?
