Trying to find a LLMD in the Bay Area. I live in the North Bay, but willing to drive. Trying to make sense of CDC negative IGM / IGG results combined with what seems to be many common lyme symptoms and exposure.
Started seeing a PA who ordered Lyme test without any mention of it from me. Lyme AB at quest was positive. Only bands that came back positive were 23 IGM, 41 IGG. Briefly talked to nurse about results. She said negative, and that was that. PA hasn't followed up with me / doesn't seem to be too concerned.
Why i'm suspicious:
In my late 20's. I did go to the doctors office for a bullseye rash when I was 13 or so. I don't remember any tests being done. I believe he said it was just a spider bite. Never thought much of it. I had been and still do hike and fish a lot, often walking off-trail, through high grass etc.
Became very low energy during High School. Joint pain in knees and shoulder. Quit sports. Moderately overweight. Generally lazy. Never saw a doctor for anything specific.
In college I began having dizzy spells. Sometimes just for a couple days, sometimes for weeks. Feeling generally sick / almost flu like. Started seeing doctor at health center somewhat regularly. Prescribed me anti-vertigo drugs. Sent me to hospital for high heart rate at one point. Saw a cardiologist. Lots of tests done with nothing coming up. Said it was "sinus tachychardia" / unexplained elevated heart rate. Was willing to believe it was just anxiety or some such. Learned to live with it.
Since college I have developed numbness in my feet. Periodically in my arms / leg / hands. Still some random dizzy spells but not as often. Recently shortness of breath, sometimes lasting for a day or two, or weeks. Muscle fatigue. Periods where I can exercise / walk for 45 mins. Other times where my muscles start to cramp up after 5-10 minutes. Feels like strange cramping around my knee etc. Something as simple as whisking eggs can make my arm really tired.
Identify with many of the symptoms on the various recommended lyme checklists. Not as mentally sharp / brain foggy at times. Have been in to urgent care etc more than a few times, while having trouble finding a MD with openings. Lots of blood work, mostly CBC, thyroid etc. Told it was allergies, bad footwear etc. No progress.
