"My last test a few weeks ago showed a double++ infection in band 83. So obviously, there is still something going on. "
You can't use the WB to determine if you're in remission. Your body can continue to produce antibodies long after the active infection is resolved.
Resolution of symptoms...plus a couple of months...
..and at first sign of symptoms returning...back into treatment.
. Yep, it kind of verified what I already knew. Guess as faulty as tests are to determine infection, they are faulty here also. Makes you wonder why anyone gets tested lolFor diagnosing, the WB can be very useful. And the PCR can be useful if it shows positive anytime.
If I hadn't tested positive for Bartonella via PCR last October, after a year of Bart treatment, I may have stopped treating ...it gave me confirmation that it is still active infection.
But that was a PCR test...not an antibody test.
The WB is good to use when diagnosing...but not for gauging when we're in remission.
PCR is useful when it's positive...but useless when it's negative.
