Recently I've developed an acne-like rash on my back, shoulders, and a bit on my face.

It's not itchy, and a lot of the dots are smaller than pimples... in fact I don't think they're pimples at all... more rash like. My skin feels rough and bumpy.

This started a week after started albendazole, but has persisted for 2 weeks after stopping it.

What causes this? Lyme? Bart? Babs? All of the above?

Any similar experiences?

While I can't say that I have the exact same thing, buy time my body starts really detoxing a lot, I get an acne type rash - small little bumps that many will produce a small bit of something (sometimes it's just the body fluid, but most often it's a small grain like thing).

It's gone on too long for an allergic type reaction, so my guess would be detoxing.

Do you dry skin brush? That helps me the most, as it's my skin detoxing. Does anything 'come out' of those bumps? If so, what does it look like? If you had been on abx, I would say most certainly detox issue, but because it's an antiparasitic that you were taking, there's more questions!
Herb only treatment for Lyme & Bart ended 12/11 - no active symptoms for 2 yrs -Herb only treatment for Babesia ended 12/12
Had Lyme, Bart, Babs, RMSF, Ehrlichia, Myco, Anaplasmosis, EBV
New Lyme case 8/2014 - Healed 1/31/15 - unknowingly had Asymptomatic Babs and Asymptomatic Bart, being treated now though (2/2016)

Hi Mustard Seed,
My pimples/sores on scalp came out only after being on malarone and Azithromycin for a few weeks. Although mine were itchy a bumpy after.

They cleared up quickly but I still get a few every 5 or so days and they are not itchy anymore at all. They also feel a little lumped up after but then it clears up .
My llmd does not think its morgellons( He has treated cases of M ) but bartonella(skin issues) or something the medicine drew out.

Anyways I wonder if your medicine is drawing something out to , I did read Bart can cause skin issues.

Take care, Jo

The words from my llmd were: "there is a war going on in and on your skin of differing bacteria and possibly even yeast" , from the distribution caused by the abx.

This is from the New To Lyme post about Yeast/Fungal Overgrowth:
Symptoms of Y/FO on the skin
There are other Y/F infections that can be transmitted skin-to-skin like ringworm but for our purposes we are interested in mainly growth that originates from within the body and grows out of the body and manifests itself into skin problems. In order to solve the symptoms on the skin it is necessary to address the root cause, usually in the gut:
-raw, sensitive skin on face, might be itchy—particularly around mouth, nose, eyes, scalp
-“rash” on face/scalp/chest/arms/back – small red bumps or cysts that look like acne but isn’t, might itch, might feel tickly at night, doesn’t respond to antibiotics
-flaking skin (particularly around mouth/nose/eyes) also looks like dry skin flaking off but it’s actually Y/F/biofilm growing out of the body and onto the face and when it hits air it dies and turns waxy or crepey (yeast can also be growing out of other openings in the body – vagina, anus, bellybutton, nipples)
-when “rash” is exposed to the sun the yeast/fungus/biofilm dies giving off a chemical-like odor
-overly sensitive skin throughout but might not look different to the eye (particularly the chest/back/arms/scalp)—Y/FO grows and creates sensitivity by damaging the skin, clothes or towels or bed linens feel like you’re rubbing sandpaper on your skin
-“rashes” growing within the folds of the skin or other dark, damp, warm areas (jock itch, arm pits, under breasts or other skin folds)—often have a “yeasty” odor

I copied more than you needed-but the solutions are also in the post. It's the last post on page 2

Hi Mustard Seed!-

I am sorry that you are dealing with this issue also.

I started Byron White AP formula last July ( 2016). AP is for treating parasites, Candida, and Mold. I started to break out with acne all over my back. I also have some on my abdomen, shoulders, and now my thighs. I stopped AP in December (2016) so I could start Dr. Klinghardt protocol.

I have stopped ALL antibiotics since June (2016) due to severe continuous herxing.

I started Dr. Klinghardt parasite protocol January (2017). His protocol includes: Biltricide, Ivermectin, Pyrantel Pamoate, Albendazole, and Alinia. I have finished this full protocol. My LLMD wants me to begin a second round of this protocol.

The acne first started on my back. I have white heads, black heads, and bigger painful boil looking acne.

My LLMD thinks that my acne is from killing off parasites. That is why she wants me to do a second round of the protocol.

My back itches bad, but it's because I have so much acne and a lot of them are so close to each other. Which makes my skin irritated from all the swelling. My back looks like a war zone. It's fully covered with acne. I am actually getting scarring from this massive breakout.

I showed my back to my regular G.P. (he is the Dr that tested me for Lyme). At one of my last appointments, I showed him my back. He said, "WOW! That is impressive!". Ugh!!

I have been using coconut oil on my body as a moisturizer for over a year. I never broke out with acne. I even stopped using coconut oil because I thought that the oil was maybe clogging my pores. But my acne never got better.

To this day, I still have acne on my back, some on my abdomen, shoulders, and now some on my thighs.

I personally don't know if my breakout is because of parasites or because I have stopped treating my Lyme and CO's right now.

I'm 39 years old and never had acne this bad in my life.

The only positive thing that I have noticed since doing one round of Dr Klinghardt parasites protocol, is that I haven't stuttered at all. This is huge for me because ever since I started treatment for Lyme (just taking Doxycycline) I had episodes of constantly stuttering and loosing my ability to talk. Knock on wood, I hope that I never stutter again!!

I am still dealing with severe fatigue, brain fog, muscle aches, migrating joint pain, and a lot of other issues.

I don't know what symptoms are from attacking parasites and what symptoms are from stopping my antibiotic treatment for Lyme and co's.

Maybe my body is finally detoxing properly from when I was attacking Lyme or it is detoxing from parasites? I don't know, but it seems like my body is trying to purge something.

I hate trying to figure out why things happen when they do. This disease is so exhausting.

I hope that something in my post will help you. I feel like my post is kinda scattered brain.

Best Wishes!

Thanks all! Much appreciated.

I'll write a detailed response tomorrow when I'm feeling a little better.
