Any ideas why most of twitching occurs in my lower legs. I can even watch it at times

my muscle twitching (in very small areas, not like a whole muscle or limb) started right above my knee. And I could see it too. I got it to stop by taking magnesium (just a cheap store brand, like 250-400 mg). After a month on Mepron, my eye started twitching, but stopped when I stopped Mepron.

Now just random places on rare occasions.

And in my signature.
geocaching in April 2016. Found a treasure trove of Lyme and Babesia.

It might be low magnesium. Sometimes Epsom salt baths help. Also some coinfections cause twitching.

I've got it in my legs also

My twitching started in my bad area - upper left side...but after awhile it spread.

Some I could see...others not.

Magnesium didn't help mine...only treatment did.

My twitching started under my eye then my lip then my foot then my hand... Then my arm, my thigh my other foot, my eye, my back, my calf... Is there a body part I'm missing?! There is no rhyme or reason to mine. I'd say I notice it most in my feet. Anyone else? Just one of the joys of Lyme and it's friends sad

It took my starting magnesium orotate to help slow down some of my muscle twitching and spasms. I could see some of it and some I can't see but can feel very well.

There is no real reason as to why one area over another - it's just where the myelin sheath is most dramatically affected by the bacteria - which has no rhyme or reason either, until you get down into the specifics of bacterial behavior.

Mine is mostly in my legs, but I do sometimes get it under an eye. I've also had these pulses or tics inside my head (in the back), in the side and in the arm.

They all seem less intense now that I've started antibiox, but still there.
Symptoms started early summer 2016
Sept 2016 - internist referred to endocrinologist
Oct/Nov - endo increased thryoid med and Vit D; pos for MTHR
Positive Igenix IgG Jan 2017 (internist ordered at my request)
LLMD first visit March 2017 - symptoms for borrelia, bart, babs?
3/30/17 - start doxy
4/6/17 - start Tinizadole

Yep the calf/foot twitchies are the symptom that convinced me something was seriously not right. They started up 15 months ago and only improved with prolonged treatment, but they're still poppin along.

Scientifically, the lower leg is more affected due to over stimulation of a fight or flight response, and the calves/feet are a very stimulated portion of that response cuz we use them to run/use them constantly. Also have read the distance of the lower leg from the heart/brain etc plays a role. These are the most reasonable reasons I've read (and I've read a LOT).

And for me, all the Magnesium in the western hemisphere wouldn't touch these. For some the twitching is from Mag deficiency - if only I was so lucky! smile
