Happy dance for Huddie and negative test........!
I have used the Amherst place for three ticks. The turn around time was pretty good (although it was winter) which was important as I seemed to be holding my breath waiting for a response! Two of the three negative........One carried lyme. The one that carried lyme was huge. They said that it had been feeding (on my dog) for about
five days. (Frontline failure ) The one that was on me, was negative. And yes, that made me feel a little better but also wonder if I have some alien strains of tick borne stuff that they don't even test for! I imagine that there are things that are not even yet discovered.....
I sometimes wonder if I could get ahold of a hungry "clean tick" (one raised in a bubble) and offer it a warm crevice behind my knee! I would send it off to Amherst to see what kind of "smoothie of tick borne diseases" that I might carry. I wonder if that would almost be a more accurate way to determine my microbes than the stupid antibody tests!
I recently showed a doctor the Bartonella scratches and told him what they are and he argued that my dog must have scratched me. I tried to explain that the skin wasnt broken and just the blood vessels under the skin...and he said that I must have a dog with really soft claws...(huh?) .I gave up and didn't mention that it happens each time I start taking Houtunnyia......I am sure that he would have thought that my dog's name was Houtunnyia or Petunia or something...YEEESH... This was not the same doctor who told me that you cannot get Lyme disease twice....She had been to a conference so she knew! Wish the docs were as up to speed as the ticks!
