For some, yes - it can be life changing. For others, just like anything else, it may not be the key.
I have unique experience in this because four of us in my family use HBOT. I have posted semi-frequently about our experience with this.
For Kid#1, he saw the most dramatic improvement from HBOT. I consider most of his treatments as failures (very little "appeared" to help him over the years). But we were very stuck for years with very little improvement for him until we did hard chamber HBOT. We did 40 sessions, and we didn't notice much at all (other than some increased mood/irritability). But about a month after completing those sessions, that's when we noticed a different child. The change was remarkable. He relapsed some that winter, but we did another round of hard chamber - and again, the improvement was amazing (but this time, it was more evident much sooner). We have done a few more hard chambers, but we mostly do soft chamber at home nowadays. For him, it was definitely key in his recovery. I feel it was more "healing" the brain in his situation. I do believe that lyme/etc AND prior treatments causes damage to our bodies. Some are able to reset more naturally on their own. Others, like my kid, need more help. HBOT was key for him for that. We did HBOT more at the end of his healing journey where he had only a few stubborn, very stubborn, symptoms left.
For Kid#2 - jury is still out for him and hbot. It does not give him the obvious improvement like Kid#1.
For Kid#3, he seeks out and asks for his home hbot. He says/thinks it helps him. He had a tough morning the other day, and after he went in mhbot, he was much improved. Coincidence? Maybe. I do believe it helped him initially when he was first being treated.
For me, hard chamber HBOT triggered some heart issues after just 6(?) or so treatments. I won't be going back to hard chamber any time soon. Instead, I do soft chamber at home.
The kids have done hbot while on and off antibiotics. We have not been on antibiotics for maybe 1 1/2 years now though. We have also done hbot while on and off herbals too.
I am not going to say it's a miracle cure at all. Clearly, you can see that just in my family alone - we have had varying reactions and results from it. Unfortunately, it's hard to know how people react to it because vast majority of people do not do as much as HBOT as what may be "recommended". It seems to take frequent occurrences in some situations, and what that magic number is... well, that's part of the challenge. I also know some people IRL who have done HBOT. Most people with soft chambers don't seem to last very long. (Our HBOT technician says that my family has got the most use of our home chamber than others have.) I know of a couple people with very very very severe neurological lymes/etc, and the initial 40 sessions of HBOT did not appear to help them.
However, I truly believe in it's healing power after what I saw it can and did do for Kid#1. Also, there is a book called Oxygen Revolution which is really inspiring (see the before/after SPECT pictures is truly inspirational). Unfortunately, there is very limited information about hbot and lyme/coinfections. : |
Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but much better lately!
Kid#2: Very sick now despite being treated for years, very bad year
Kid#3: Doing great, minor relapse, but great again (ironically had least and shortest treatment)!
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids) - not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue, kidney, heart, and yeast issues
