Hi KB, Sorry!! I was off playing with my herbs and running errands for my hubby.
When I went through the worst of my herxing, it was during the time I was using Minocycline only - so there was little guess work needed there.
The next time I was herxing severely, it was during the use of the Chronic Tonic, which is a combination of 11 different herbs (www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=3244272
), so I had no idea which herb(s) were making me herx so much.
The next time I was herxing badly was when I introduced Houttuynia to the mix to help treat Bartonella - that one was easy to know! LOL!
This time for treatment, I'm using Buhner's, which has me adding in herbs one at a time, and I am very sensitive to the Japanese knotweed (I'm only able to take very small amounts still after many months slowly, carefully raising my dose) - so I know that's one of the harder hitting herbs for me.
I would suggest that you stop the methyl B until you get the methyl folate in. They seem to work in conjunction to help us detox easier. And do be sure to start off on low doses and build up slowly - adding these supplements will allow more toxins to be processed, and you could get overwhelmed by toxins simply because you can't help your body get rid of them fast enough.
Everything must be taken very slowly as we need to remember we have a very careful balance to maintain with our bodies. We may be loaded with toxins, but if we try to move them too quickly, it will throw us into one heck of a herx. Personally, when I feel like I'm sinking in toxins, I stop everything, including detoxing for a day or two, then start back with the detoxing, slowly adding in more detoxing routines over the course of the following few days. Once I feel like I'm stable again, I'll start back on treatments - slowly and starting with a lower dose than where I left off so that I don't throw myself into yet another herx (honestly, I just feel I'm too old/been through too much to keep herxing all the time!!!)
I do a lot to help my body detox, or I will end up herxing a ton. I'll list what I use just to give you an example - the things I list are things that I have found work well for my body and they may or may not be good for you as well.
I use a foot soak,
dry skin brushing,
making sure my bowels moved at least once a day (sorry if it's TMI!)
pushing myself to drink at least 64 ounces of lemon water each and every day,
liver/gall bladder flushes (all natural), as needed,
oil pulling with tea tree oil,
taking activated charcoal, as needed,
Alpha lipoic acid,
Methyl B-12 and methyl folate,
red root tincture,
Yogi brand detox tea (original flavor)
Have recently added cytokine remodulators - Chinese Skullcap and Red clover extracts
and keeping the amount of stress in my life at a bare minimum.
I have used apple cider vinegar to help with detoxing as well - it's really good, but started making my stomach issues worse, so I stopped using it daily and only use it occasionally when I know I need a boost in my detoxing for just a day or two.
Keep asking questions and adopting strategies from others that you believe may work for you as well!
