Quick background: diagnosed via IGENIX for Bb, anaplasma, babs, and we're treating for bart just for fun.

I took a wide variety of abx for a full year, and recently quit them because I felt like my gut and brain were being affected. Felt like my doc wasn't really "getting" me, so I took matters into my own hands and quit abx and started taking the herbs that I wanted to take. For the past week or so my right leg has felt like there's no blood in it, or that there's no circulation, blood stagnation, etc. It feels heavy or light, hurts to stand in one place for very long. However, I can walk, run, and jump.

Previously my main symptom was left side pain--arm, shoulder, back, leg. I started taking stuff to soothe my nervous system and the pain is SO much better. So, I'm happy that taking my treaatment into my own hands was so beneficial. But now my right leg is kinda scaring me--I'm afraid it's gonna fall off. I can move it and feel sensations in it like normal, though.

Here's what I changed in my protocol:

added: gou teng, red sage, chinese scullcap, L-arginine, cordyceps, and licorice. Ashwagandha a while back.
Stopped: low dose naltrexone, antibiotics, and artemisinin.

If anybody has any clue about any of this please let me know. Thanks!

I notice you're taking L-arginine. When I was prescribed it, my LLND also had me take L-Lysine.
l-arginine can reactivate EBV - and the Lysine can help counteract that.

I'm not saying it's L-Arginine causing your new symptom but want you to be aware of what it can do.

Hi I also stopped abx a few weeks ago and increased my herbal protocols and boy I have had increase in symptoms and some came back that had been gone for a awhile.

All I can figure is the abx I was on wasn't really that high of doses like I have seen others take. So for me I think there is just a bunch of bacteria the herbals are now hitting. Loads of fun.

Have you considered the neuroborreliosis protocol that may help with the leg since it could be caused by nuero. I dont see that you are taking Uncaria rhynchophylla and there are a few others that help with neuro Lyme.
Something to check out.

You said it feels like no circulation, is color of skin good, how do your veins appear... remember to rule out other causes besides Lyme and co.

It sounds like peripheral neuropathy in the legs.
It is viruses that attack nerves.
I read yesterday the l-arginine increases the action of viruses, that you must take l-lysine with it to conteract how it works in the body - Girlie is right.
Neuropathy is common with lyme there are lots of threads on it in the Healing Well forum.
I get it coming back if I stop using the vibrational platform I use for exercise. Getting the blood flow out to those nerves that are being compromised is the best thing for getting the nerve endings working closer to normal. There are supplements to take too omega 3s, b12, herbs that improve blood circulation are the main ones that I use. Stay away from sugar it doesn't help these conditions.

I see you aren't on neurotoxin binders...

As most die off herxes are neuro toxic, it could be that this is affecting the nerves (so the lack of feeling).

I would add antioxidants (powerful, if possible) plus LOADS of binders such as MSM or chlorella...

MSM as a binder? I haven't heard of that.

I had the dead leg thing. It's very scary. There is some lyme in the cerebellum section of your brain. It will go away as you treat. Acetyl L Carnitine is a great anti-oxidant for the brain. I take 600 mg during a herx.

It's counter intuitive, and some people get so upset when I suggest exercise, but when I have a build up neuropathic symptoms, they go away after exercise. I think the blood/oxygen thing is sludgy with lots of toxins and exercise cleans things out. Definitely need binders and detox baths, etc...as others noted.

Here is an article about suggestions for neurotoxin binders.
MSM is inside, it's widely used by many of dr. K's practitioners.

It is one of the most efficient ways to remove heavy metals.

---------------------------------
16 grams MSM daily for 10 days as a detox and then 8 -12 grams daily for life.
Dr. Gordon mentioned 1 teaspoon of Bio En'R-G'Y C has 2 grams of MSM; he does 4 teaspoons per day.

MSM is oxidized DMSO.

Jinna, I quickly looked at the link and maybe I missed it mentioning MSM as a binder.

Could you quote the section that says it's a binder. I must have missed it.

I did see it in the list of detox agents and support agents...but not mentioned specifically as a binder:
(just as Vitamin C and other antioxidants are detox agents...they aren't binders)

Chlorella is very complimentary with other detox agents and support agents, which can be used for more efficient and effective detox.
• Processed (nanonizing chlorella products):Matrix Metals, NDF, Metal Free
1
• Vitamin C and antioxidants, Ecklonia Cava; Minerals and electrolytes
• Sulfur products: MSM, DL Methionine, taurine, garlic, NAC
• Zeolites: Alli-thiamin
• Phospho lipids with Ca EDTA ...
• OSR
• Chelating agents: DMPS, DMSA, Na EDTA, D-Pen

Thanks to everyone who offered advice. Yes, I have also started taking larger doses since going solo, (red sage/scullcap, houttunyia, crypto, cat's claw, knotweed, andrographis, gou teng. The pain is almost 100% gone. I don't know if all those antibiotics lowering the amount of pathogens was what allowed me to get to this point, but starting on herbs that sooth the nervous system was the magic bullet for me. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but the pain is almost gone. If it flares up I take an extra dose of knotweed, scullcap, ashwagandha ,red sage/scullcap and gou teng, and it goes away. So also I feel like I can control things for the first time instead of my symptoms being very randomized.

I'm thinking that the higher doses and additional herbs have stirred things up---maybe now that whatever was causing the pain is calming down, whatever is causing the numbness is trying to take its place.

I have stopped taking binders, though, just because I'm moving between two houses and I haven't been able to order anything for a bit. Will definitely get back on that---chlorella and charcoal. I'll look into the others as well as l-lysine.

And yes I have been exercising a lot, or at least moving around and sweating for a couple hours each day. I think that the exercise and also getting out of my stressful job and living situation and into something better have all helped tremendously.

BlueLyme you love bvt lol. My new landlord keeps bees--I might try sticking a few in me and let you know how it goes.
If things keep improving hopefully I can join the "success stories" thrad.

I have something similar in my right leg with numbness and heaviness. I had shingles on that side in April. Now whenever I eat/drink something like bone broth or gelatin that's high in arginine, it flares up again.

You might want to stop the arginine for a few days to a week and see if your leg feels any different.

vibrational platform.......? Care elaborate on this? Guessing this is in a gym? I agree getting blood flow going helps. Aggressive foam rollers help too. But vibrating your whole body sounds assume for muscles/nerves.

I used a "chia" machine at a PT clinic- you lay with your feet in it and it moves /vibrates lower body. I was thinking of buying one- under $300.

thanks
