Yesterday afternoon I took 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (lakewood brand, no preservatives) to aid my regularity and 2 hours later I got a brain fog and massive fatigue. This morning I woke up so intensely fatigued I couldn't even go to work, I even got some slight tendon pain out of nowhere.

Have you had this kind of experience with Aloe Vera?

Aloe vera - is benign - it wouldn't be the cause for those symptoms - ever. It's a helper not a hinderer. The worst that can happen with Aloe is cramping and/or GI upset. And that's temporary - one go to the bathroom and it's over.

"i drank water the last day, and today i herx! water makes me herx? " no it does not sad

People with allergy reactions to aloe vera are also allergic to garlic and onions. Aloe vera side effects according to the internet sites I looked up are inflammation and skin rashes.
I wouldn't think it was he aloe vera. Perhaps you have picked up an infection of some kind.

I took aloe vera, the crystal from the plant though, some time ago, and I now remember some fatigue, brain fog and muscle tightness a couple of hours after ingesting it.

Good news though, I'm already feeling better.

My hypothesis are that:

1.- Aloe vera has antifungal properties and it attacked yeast/candida causing die off.
2.- It's natural detox properties boosted a process I couldn't keep up with inundating my body with more toxins.
3.- My immune system just reacted to it.

I will have to disregard this as a pure coincidence since it has happened before.

Either way I'm staying away from it for good. smile

I do continue on my mission though to find a very inert substance to promote regularity. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks for the link Girlie. Maybe on top of everything it just interacted with the Zhang herbs.

I just noticed that you wrote it was processed, in a bottle - you could also be ingesting the energies of that process - not necessarity the plant itself - who knows how it was made, in what manner. How the plants are grown, where. In cases of healing all of this matters. Greatly. Also bar-codes - was it passed through a bar-code at check out? Also has an impact. Best - get the plant where it grows naturally.

Also - a theory based on sage advice I received is - whatever energy *YOU* put into a remedy - i.e. positivity/open heart vs negativity/fear/closed heart/mind - will ultimately have that effect on you. Ergo - if you are taking an herb or other type of remedy - first have FAITH that it will heal you, thank the Universe for its provision to you at this time, connect with love and open your heart - THEN ingest. After ingesting - thank again for your healing. It is with this that miracles happen.

These are the ingredients you took ALONG with the Aloe - don't blame the Aloe for heaven's sake. Just look at this - in a seemingly innocent bottle of *Aloe*.

Organic Aloe Vera Juice, contains less than 1% of: Organic Lemon Juice, Xanthan Gum, Organic Guar Gum.

Guar gum, xanthum gum? Look at those as the culprits!

There are side effects of Aloe:

"Aloe may also cause abdominal cramping, allergic skin reaction, constipation, dehydration, dependency if used as a laxative, delayed wound healing, diarrhea, electrolyte imbalance, excess bleeding, hardening of the skin, Henoch-Schönlein purpura (purple spots on the skin), hepatitis, hives, increased risk of colorectal cancer, increased risk of irregular heartbeat, kidney failure, liver toxicity, low potassium in the blood, muscle weakness, redness of the skin and eyelids, skin dryness, skin inflammation from sun exposure, soreness, splitting of the skin, stinging, stomach discomfort, thyroid dysfunction, urinary stone, uterine contractions, and widespread inflammation of the skin."

www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/aloe/safety/hrb-20058665
Production of Excess Adrenaline

"Consumption of aloe vera juice can trigger the body to produce excessive adrenaline, which can turn out to be fatal for someone suffering from heart conditions. It can even influence the potassium levels in the body causing arrhythmia, weakness, and softness of muscles.

While you have to drink a large amount of juice for such effects, you must discuss side effects of aloe vera juice with your doctor if you have a heart condition."

I call this BS from Big Pharma. Hyping the negative while subduing the positive. That said - ALOE IS A VERY POWERFUL PLANT. It should not be used by sissies - or anyone who is afraid of powerful things in general. If you are weak, debilitated, have a fearful outlook - work up from a drop to a teaspoon in a month. Then post and report.

Xanthum gum and guar gum are thickening agents both found in Lakewood *aloe* gel. Let us examine the possible side-effects from both:

*xanthan gum may not be tolerated well by people with digestive issues, but it’s not as bad as many make it out to be.*

and

*people with digestive issues may want to think twice about eating foods containing it because xanthan gum has been found to be a highly efficient laxative. Subsequently, as described by an article published in the British Journal of Nutrition, it can cause “significant increases in stool output, frequency of defecation and flatulence.”* - Dr.Axe

Guar Gum:
*Side effects include increased gas production, diarrhea, and loose stools. These side effects usually decrease or disappear after several days of use. High doses of guar gum or not drinking enough fluid with the dose of guar gum can cause blockage of the esophagus and the intestines.* webmd.com

Read your labels. Do your research. Self-Inquire: *Is this harmful or beneficial for my body* repeat as necessary.

Hi Warrior,

Good for you... you listened to your body and you found aloe to be suspect. No amount of opinions will convince me to try it again.
We're all different. Hang in there!

Hey Warrior,
Started OG Aloe juice just from inner clear goo, 2 days ago, me n my 88 yr old Ma
Ma is having:
Achy joints, headache, trouble sleeping,
Couple thots:
Aloe is high in sulfur (I have sulfur liver path SNPs)
http://www.miracle-plant-aloe-vera.com/organic-sulfur.html
(Outer Alo leaf is gen. the laxative part)
Re benign-ish laxative:
Magnesium and/or vitamin c? both taken just past "bowel tolerance"
Mag can compete w other mins for receptor sites
Vit C make sure it's ALL non acidic

G'luck!

Hi Girlie, n thanx!
My Ma drives a convertible, leg presses 400lbs, works out in the Bush.. but at 88 she's got arthritis, nail fungus, starting to run down... :-(
I've got an an acute porphyria, & have had Lyme/Babesia for 30 yrs; I don't THINK Ma has Lyme, tho...?
Ma n I have both done MMF, Allimed, bee stings for several yrs w great improvement.
We're trying c60 in olive oil now, and drinking fresh Aloe Barbadensis, too soon to evaluate.
Abx + porphyria = heart attack for me, hence Allimed, herbs, glutathione suppositories, nebulized colloidal silver, etc.
I'll post any interesting results from our latest healing additions.
Incidentally, my father was an MD & MA's a PhD, so we're being as science-based as possible w our...alternative treatments.

Can you please keep me updated on this C60 product I am hearing amazing things about its effect on general health.

For those looking into the C60 for whatever reason, I found this

c60antiaging.com/c60-scams/clif-high-purplepower-livelongerlabs/

Purple power is freaking expensive and if this is true then it may be a better source of c60. I don't know as I just came across this today and have not tried any c60 yet.
