Hi everyone.

Ive been having a lot of problems lately in physical and mental health. I was already dealing with fatigue becausd of D defciency so Im really unsure of the causs but in the past 2 months Ive gotten a new set of symptoms and it recently clicked in me it was about the same time I got bitten by some microscopic bugs.

-heavy legs that felt like lead

And later on rls and itching as well as other random burning and shooting pains, leg cramps. The most annoying hard to explain thing is the ticklish sensation in my legs that cause the upper part of my body to feel weird. Best way I can explain it ia that feeling you get in your legs and stomach when you need to poop (sorry)

Sensitive skin. My legs are especially sensitive when I press on them it hurts my stomach a bit and causes electricity

-worse memory I was already pretty bad with attention but I've become more like dory from nemo lately and I read thats a symptom to

I dont have any rash and I did feel flu like symptoms in the beginning but I havent felt it since and I dont remember if that was before or after the bug bite.

Other than that I have general "allergy" symptoms. Nose that always feels plugged throat that feels dry/hoarse voice always thirsty, but drink a lot of water

cant really hold me pee in but I may have already been like that

Stiff joints in hands

darker hands and feet (is this a thing?)

just throwing out anything that could be useful.

If you think it sounds familiar please give me some tips om how you moved forward with your doctor. Im intimidated by doctors because of their tendency to assume its all in your head.

Bodan,

Welcome to the forum! I'm so sorry you're having all those symptoms. Yes, they do sound very much like Lyme and bartonella symptoms.

If you haven't already, please check out the New to Lyme info at the top of the page.

That weird feeling in your leg is probably nerve sensations.

I'm not sure I've heard about darker hands/feet, but hopefully someone who has will see this and respond.

I understand the intimidation about doctors. When I go to any doctors anymore, I get nervous and that just makes my symptoms worse. Then I start stumbling over words and my brain freezes up and I can't remember what I need to say. I definitely have a fear of rejection when it comes to doctors/medical professionals.

My primary care doctor has been with me since 2011. He's been with me long enough to see the progression of my symptoms, and we've talked enough that he should know me as a person. I just hope he doesn't lose sight of that now that he knows I have a positive Lyme test.

If you have a good primary doctor who really knows you, especially if they knew you before you got sick, hold onto them. You will still need their care and support. Most Lyme literate doctors (LLMDs) don't take insurance and can be very expensive.

Have you been tested yet for Lyme?

A lot of it sounds like it could be Lyme and co infections. They do really weird things to us. Best to get tested. Lyme mimics many other illness so sometimes it's hard to tell what's what. My legs will feel heavy but to me it feels like a heaviness due to significant inflammation especially when knees hand and other joint ache are also hurting. I too had the weird skin sensation on especially 1 side of my face & top of my head when it almost hurt to touch that skin. Very strange feeling hard to describe almost a prickly feeling. Different than if you touched a bruise. I have heard that some of the co infections can cause weird discolorations and callus like conditions on the feet. Allergy symptoms are common. My memory is unpredictable. You could tell me something then 2 minutes later I may ask the same question that you just answered. Very frustrating for all. Memory is improving though. Or rather it fluctuates depending on the day. When you do go to a DR have all your symptoms and questions written out. It helps with the anxiety and forgetfulness. I gave a copy my extensive symptom list and history when I first went in. That was really helpful for the doctor and me.
