Hi. I hadn't flown in 1.5 years since becoming ill until last week. I am treating Lyme and Bartonella, after moving past Babesia. My worst symptoms are frontal headaches/eye pain, back pain and a variety of neuro issues.
I was worried that the change in pressure would impact my headaches, among other symptoms. But, I was fine, completely fine. I think I caused myself more duress in anticipating the situation than the actual situation itself.
I know we are all different, and I'm not sure what your symptoms are. But, hopefully my experience will be similar to yours.
I had the same experience- my anxiety about
flying with symptoms gave me worse issues than the flight. I flew 8 hours overseas, no problems at all.
Bring your own food, do not count on the airline to have something you can eat (assuming you have a special diet). Some airlines allow you to choose a special meal before if you log into your booking.
If you're flying overseas be aware of laws about
"importing" food. I know meat and produce cannot come into the US.
I had no problems with my bag full of supplements. I had all the labeled bottles and my liquid Mepron could go outside the liquid bag limit, I just had to
open it for them.
On my return trip we got stuck on the tarmac 2 extra hours, plus a 12 hour flight
I was fine but could have used some more food and I took an ibuprofen for a small headache.
You'll be fine. Just be as prepared as you would normally be for a trip with Lyme.
